Taken from a first gen analog source, this is a rare show form the brief Semi Tour of Some of the Hemispheres tour. These shows served as a preview and warm up for the recording of the Permanent Waves album. This concert has a great performance of both books of Cygnus and worth having for that alone.(...) The instruments are quite clear and very well resolved. This is an excellent recording in both sound and performance. "A most interesting source indeed. It is a scanner source, but it captures all the instruments rather well. The only thing lesser on this source is that the acoustic guitar, some keyboards, and some sound effects are captured as "bleed through" on what ever monitor this particular scanner channel was picking up on this night.It is the complete show, analog sourced, and there for some hiss. Sound quality is very near soundboard with only the occasional short transient. The source has been digitally remastered to boost the signal and to equalize it similarly to a soundboard recording." "Until there is a Signals soundboard, this date will remain the best sounding date of the tour. And the source for this production, a 1st Gen tape archived to DAT, is incredible to say the least. To describe the sound of this show would require using words that would sound more like a description of heaven than that of a live recording. But this is heaven to Rush fanatics. The balance is almost perfect between the instruments. There is just the right mix of authoritative low end and ethereal high end. One listen to Neil's drum solo and one would almost swear it is a soundboard. Also, the show is complete and intact. The only cut is the last 10 seconds of the YYZ / Drum Solo. I could go on and on about how good this show sounds and how much fun it is to listen to. But rather than do that, just go out and get a copy to listen to and enjoy for yourself. "(The Digital Dan)

It?s fairly typical of a CP show, except that the "country intro" to Cold Fire wasn?t yet being used. The sound is very good, a bit too much bass, but still a great-sounding show. "Wow, if you though E2E was good, check this recording out. It actually sounds better if you can believe it. All the instruments are extremely clear and you can hear all the little nuances very clearly. Geddy's voice can get a little buried at times, but not enough that it would be distracting. Geddy has a lot of fun with the synths tonight as he adds a lot of subtle differences to the songs, almost like he is experimenting with it on stage. It makes for some very interesting variations on some classic Rush anthems. A very highly recommend show, really it should be a must have."

"This has to be one of THE greatest find for us RUSH fans.? Where in the world did this source come from??? WOW!!! The sound is crystal clear with nice stereo separation and a wonderful mix.?  Personally, only a wee bit more low end could help this great sounding source.? According to the packaging, this source is taken from the rehearsal performance one night before the T4E tour opening night (19 October) at the Knickerbocker Arena, Albany, NY. There is no crowd noise, because there was none.? RUSH is going through the entire setlist (probably) in front of the crew and perhaps few lucky individuals who had the privilege to be there.? Sometimes Geddy throws in odd lyrics here and there; and during some of the older songs, Geddy doesn't sing the lyrics at all and just lets the music come through.? "Taken from the cassette master recording of the show, this is a complete concert. This is an excellent analog audience recording. It has that wonderful warmth and bass that analog sources can really bring out when one is well recorded. And this is no exception. All the instruments sound great and reasonably close. Neil really comes through clear. This date was made infamous by the RoIO "Northern Heroes". This is a different source that hasn't really been circulated well before. The band seems to have some problems getting the sound effects working on "Force Ten" as it loops strangely out of sync. A very special thanks to ElvisJB for graciously allowing us to borrow the master cassettes to work from. As with all Digital Reproductions releases, this is available for free trade only. If you see the recording being sold, you are being ripped off. Please keep the spirit of free trade going, don't buy or sell free trade recordings. "

very small hiss that is audible throughout this recording, and Bono's vocals seem to have a weird echo on them. Also, there are (very small) fades in between every song".
