Seeder Notes:
"Another one of JEMS' analog-era U2 masters that has not been torrented directly from the master tapes. This was the second time JEMS recorded the band in Detroit in the span of slightly more than three months. But in that time the band's popularity grew enormously, as they jumped from the 5,000 seat Fox Theater they played in December to 17,000 seat Joe Louis Arena. Another fine audience recording by J in a much bigger venue. It takes a minute into the first song to get the mic and levels right but after he does it is pretty much smooth sailing." (August 2011)

Seeder Notes:
"This is one of the last of our analog-era U2 masters that has not been torrented directly from the master tapes and we'll be getting to most of them over the next couple of weeks. Circulating copies of this War tour stop in Detroit are very good indeed, coming from a cassette master to DAT copy done well over a decade ago by J, but this is a fresh transfer of the master cassette at higher resolution and sounds it terrific, far better than most War tour audies in the States.. One of many many shows JEMS recorded at this venue." (August 2011)

Bootslive Statement:
The information below is exactly as stated in the best guide we've ever met on U2's bootlegs, the late Flom (© "FLOM - A Guide To U2 Bootleg CDs" / Sascha Kremer). We prefer to give due credit, even though not knowing who exactly wrote it instead of being accused of plagiarizing the work of others. The little Napoleon is always hanging around, ready to launch false accusations and to demand public retraction, what make us laugh a lot.

© "FLOM - A Guide To U2 Bootleg CDs" / Sascha Kremer:
"There is a good stereo "feel" to this recording. You can hear all the "components" of U2 (i.e. vocals, bass, guitar and drums) very clearly. This CD features two interesting soundcheck recordings, apparently from just before the first ZOO TV show in Lakeland, Florida. When listening to the soundchecks (which are recorded fairly well), its quite strange to hear U2 play live, but with no applause or audience noise. I'd recommend this CD for anyone's collection, if only for the soundchecks and the brilliant performance (in my opinion) of "Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses"! If you haven't got an Outside Broadcast Tour bootleg yet, then I think this one is worth the money. Disc 1, Track 1 is the infamous Automatic Baby performance, with Michael Stipe (of R.E.M.) on lead vocals." (not included here)
