Rush - 1984-06-25 - Milwaukee, WI (SHN)
Venue: Mecca Arena

Media: 2 CDr Audio
Bootleg: Experience To Extremes Remastered
Catalog: Atlas Productions: AP006
Excellent Audience

Digital Rush Experience Average Rating: Audio: 8

Remaster notes:
"I spent quite a bit of time getting this to the correct speed. I'm confident that I have it down to +/- 1/10th of a percent. The original ran a bit over 2% too fast. I made no EQ adjustments as it needed none. I raised the volume a bit, fixed the indexing and dumped the bonus tracks". (Galt_Speaks)

DRE Comments:
"This is definatly a nice show, nice energy, and a nice performance overall. The sound quality is near perfect, but only at the first few songs that the crowd is a little louder than the band themselves. This is definatly up there with a few of the other shows I have found, and it really rivals the soundboard Fear on the 9/21/84 show, becuase the sound qaulity is really just that great. This is a bootleg that you need right away if you don't have it already".  Eric (Audio - 9 / 2009-01-01)

"Awesome sounding bootleg. The band puts on a great show. Highlights are The Enemy Within, Afterimage, The Weapon, and Between The Wheels. My favorite show from the GUP tour". Meir Weinberg (Audio - 9 / 2005-02-21)

"Great AUDIENCE recording. This Remaster fixes few flaws in the original Prism release. I recall a discussion while back where Mike Bahr (Prism) used the Intro/TSoR (first portion) from the GUP Video. You can hear the transition from the SBD source > AUD recording. According to the taper, this show was taped using AKG 460b > Sony WM-D5M. The recording is rich with deep bass and good midrange punch. I think the highs are just a bit too harsh (most likely from the original Prism's EQ). This is by far the BEST audience tape from the GUP tour, closely followed by Reno and Atlanta". "Limited to 30 copies with original high-quality cover artwork and disc labels. Available only by trade. Sourced from a 2nd-generation tape. The sound quality of this recording is so good, it's scary. One of the few audience boots that truly deserves the "EX" rating". DublAgent (Audio grade - 9)- DRE

DRE Comments:
"An excellent low gen analog source from the RtB tour. This is an incredible sounding show, the high end is very well captured as are the sound effects. The recording starts off a bit rough as the taper is repositioning the mic a few times,  maybe because of security being in the area. Other than a few rough spots early on, the sound quality is nothing short of exceptional. Thankfully, this great sounding show is also from the 2nd US leg of the RtB tour with the expanded setlist. The inclusion of Vital Signs, The Analog Kid, and The Trees make these late tour shows the ones to get. A highly recommended show to any fan of this tour. As with all Digital Reproductions recordings, it's only available via free trade and never for sale." (The Digital Dan)

Taper notes:
"What other band would think of cooking chicken on stage? What a great show! Unfortunately PNC has perhaps the world's most horrible accoustics for recording music. At least this is my experience. While the show was great, the band and the audience both had amazing energy throughout the show, it is unfoftunately not expressed in this recording. When compared to others recordings from this tour, this might be rated in the bottom rung. In my area of the venu there was a ton of talking, especislly the bitch who was in front of me, and is easily recognized durig the first third of the show. Also my mic line was literally stepped on during the first set by my neighbors who did not know what I was doing until the incident. But, all things said, this is an enjoyably recording by fans and those who attended the show."

Led Zeppelin - Earl's Court May 24, 1975
"The most famous of the five nights at Earls Court, largely because it has long been available in a near complete soundboard recording. The many releases used a combination of the video soundtrack and a proper soundboard source tape. However this was incomplete, running for only 180 minutes. Several years ago Celebration released the 4CD Odysseus, which should and could have been much better. More soundboard tape was used (in Dazed and Confused and for Moby Dick), but there were still gaps in the acoustic section which should have been filled by the audience source. Recently however even more of the soundboard source tape appeared, and this was used by Watch Tower for their 4CD release To Be A Rock And Not To Roll. The gaps were carefully filled with an excellent audience tape. Unfortunately, like so many of Watch Tower's releases, this was again spoilt by numerous digital 'clicks' and 'ticks'. Empress Valley rush released the 4CD He Must Be Dazed And Confused to counteract this. The sound quality is similar to Watch Tower, perhaps a very small improvement, but the big gain is in the strength of Robert Plant's voice, which is much louder and clearer in this new version. Again the gaps have been filled with an excellent audience tape."

"This release is undoubtably the most important and exciting release of an Earls Court concert for a very long time. A virtually complete soundboard source tape has been discovered, and used to dramatic effect. In fact the sound quality rivals the previous night, it is simply superb. Again the gaps have been filled with the audience tape (the end of No Quarter and parts of the acoustic section are missing from the soundboard and have been filled with the audience recording). Thank goodness Empress Valley did not repeate their complete howler as they did for the New York 29th July 1973 soundboard release (Grand Finale), by using the previous night's soundboard to fill the gaps. Therefore this last night, all 222 minutes of it, is destined to become a classic, much sought after by fans. Wishing to capitalize on this Empress Valley subsequently released the last night as a seperate 4CD set called The Zeppelin Express Physical Rocket."

Whatever Notes:
"I never was satisfied with my first matrix of this great show. So, I did it again. For me, sounds very clear now and have now much more Live-feeling. I've changed the volume from wb in my new mix.
10% more wb, less vortex242. I've also removed oversized bass and did a little EQ'ing. I was really happy that I've not lost the Data of the Time-settings. So it took not too much time to do the mix again.
I hope you'll like it! For all the bitching-Freaks: Have a nice day!
